What is Tech Speakers?
- Community-driven technical speaker development program...
- Designed to be self-guided or run in your group...
In order to increase developer awareness and adoption of Mozilla products and the Open Web.
- In order to communicate clearly to your teams and groups!
Nothing is free.
- Being a good speaker is not magic.
- But becoming one might be uncomfortable.
- And will take a little bit of work.
- But a little work goes a LONG way.
It's all about you.
I am not running this.
You are, as a group.
It'll be hard. But fun!
The Program
- Six weeks short.
- Combines content crafting and speaking practice.
- It is repeatable.
Story Crafting
- Who is your audience?
- What do you want them to do?
- What is the bottom line?
The ThoughtBox
The ThoughtBox
- A tool to craft your story.
- Organizes your thoughts.
- Makes sure you cover all the bases.
- Print as landscape and get to work.
Speaking Practice
Record yourself...
Talking about anything...
For 2 minutes...
Watch as a group.
Repeat!
Feedback Guidelines
- Watch entire presentation without comment.
- At the end, go around the group.
- Say what you liked.
